About Avery's Heart Foundation
Founded by Lisa Jennings, Avery’s Heart Foundation stands as a beacon of hope, healing, and empowerment for those navigating life’s most difficult seasons. Lisa is an international keynote speaker, author, and best-selling anthology co-writer who has dedicated her life to helping others rediscover their strength through resilience and self-care.
As an Army veteran and grief trauma survivor, Lisa brings more than credentials—she brings lived experience. With over 20 years in leadership and mentorship development, she is known for her hands-on, heart-centered approach to empowering women. Her work focuses on helping individuals reclaim their lives from depression, manipulation, and co-dependent relationships through a blend of traditional and holistic healing practices.
But Avery’s Heart Foundation is more than an organization—it is a movement born from fire.
The Phoenix Phase: Our Story
They say the phoenix rises from its ashes—but what they don’t tell you is that first, it burns.
On October 9, 2019, what began as a day of celebration for Lisa turned into a moment that would forever change her life. On her birthday, she received devastating news that no mother should ever have to hear her son, Terron, had tragically passed away in an auto collision.
In an instant, everything changed.
Grief consumed her. Darkness followed. The pain was unimaginable.
But even in the fire, there was purpose waiting to be revealed. Remembering the last words her son Terron said to her was “Mom you’re like a Phoenix “ then hung her goodbye.
In the midst of her grief, Lisa began to think about her three grandchildren—children now navigating a world without their father. She saw their pain, their questions, their need for love, guidance, and healing. And in that moment, something deeper stirred within her spirit.
Through her faith, God revealed a vision—not just for her healing, but for her purpose.
A calling to serve.
A calling to rise—and to help others rise.
She was reminded of the powerful words from the song What About the Children by Yolanda Adams:
“What about the children?”
Those words became a turning point.
Because when we reflect on our own lives, we remember—if it wasn’t for those who loved us, who guided us, who showed up for us… where would we be?
That question became the foundation of Avery’s Heart Foundation.
